Lynn English High School Student Sparks Controversy with T-Shirt that says "All the Cool Girls are Lesbians"
A female student was admonished at Lynn English High School (Lynn, MA) for wearing a T-shirt that read “All the Cool Girls are Lesbians.” The vice-principal along with a teacher deemed the shirt to be “disruptive” and therefore inappropriate for school; she was asked in the cafeteria to cover the shirt up, a ruling with which the principal later agreed. School committee members also weighed in with some also agreeing that the shirt was inappropriate. One SC member in particular stated that he didn’t like the shirt because it implied that one group (lesbians) were better than others based on sexual orientation. An editorial in the local paper said they believed that a student who wore a shirt that read “All the cool kids are straight” would be punished for the same reason.

I’m just incoherently angry about this — the vice-principal needs education, and the principal needs a spine. I can’t go...
