Cassandra Clare: October is anti-Bullying month: on hiatuses and hate blogs

When someone first told me there was a tumblr hate blog about me I didn’t think much of it. I find hate blogs disturbing but they seem to be an unavoidable facet of online life at this juncture. There’s one about pretty much every person and every website, given that they are in any way well…

This is a very important post about online bullying, and I think Cassie is being extremely brave to post about it. I know that authors (and many people who could be understood to be public figures) are generally told to not talk about this stuff, but there is a point where criticism crosses the line into harassment, and I have seen it happen to many of my friends. It’s appalling. I applaud Cassie for speaking out about it!
